- Start your shopping early in the morning after a heavy breakfast. This is because Balinese believe that the first customer who buys from em, will give them good luck so they will let you bargain very low as long as you buy something from em. If the first customer goes in their shop and not buy anything, they believe it will bring em bad luck (low business) for the whole day. Why heavy breakfast? You wont have any time to eat afterwards coz ur soo busy buying the entire Bali!
- Do not touch anything unless you are almost certain that you wana buy it. Once you look at something, the shop owner will start lowering the price and when you touch their items they assume that you will definitely buy it. But when you decide not to buy it, they will get iritated and some hassle you and force you to buy it. So no touching touching ok?
- Wear comfortable clothes that wont make you sweat too much. Ubud is hot. The sun is almost always out and about. So make sure you wear something comfy and light to prevent from over sweating. This is the time to make use of your summer dress and flip flops.
- Water! Bring drinking water with you always as it is hot and you do not wana get dehydrated. And if you get hungry often like me, do bring along snacks..
- Create a shopping list! Please do make a list of things you wana buy and things that are optional cos you may run outta chaching in no time and without a list, you may go off track and forget what you really need. SO make a list and do not forget to bring it on the shopping spree.
